Create a Dressing Room for a Markets Human Design Environment
If you were designing your dream closet space, what would you include? How would you store your clothes? How about your shoes, hats and bags?
Even in the dressing room, considering your Environment Variable in your Human Design Bodygraph can be a fun way to get in touch with the spaces you resonate with.
Have you ever had a closet that you adored? Maybe you stole a few sacred moments in it when you needed to gather your spirits, or needed a quiet moment to regulate your body. Maybe for you, it’s just a space to hold your clothes and undergarments.
Below, you’ll find ways to design and set up your closet and dressing room based on the Colour of your Environment Variable, whether you’re Caves, Markets, Kitchens, Mountains, Valleys or Shores. These are not hard and fast rules, but ideas for you to consider when building awareness on what you resonate with outside your body. Calculate your Environment Variable here.
Custom fitted drawers
Imagine opening any drawer in your closet and it’s a perfect cubby holding your favourite things. Your socks have their own place, your eyewear are perfectly laid out in rows, your shirts are folded and arranged. When designing your closet space, bring care to the interiors of your drawers, ensuring they fit your specific items. Everything should have a spot.
Seasonal wardrobe storage
Depending on where you live, your environment may experience varying degrees in its climate. If summer requires lighter clothing and winter heavier clothing, consider if you need to keep all your clothing out, or if some is better suited to being stored and put away for the season. It can be very exciting for you to pull out your “winter clothes” or “summer clothes” after they’ve been away for some time! This is a great way to keep things feeling fresh.
A Throw Chair
Sometimes you might wear something but don’t feel it’s actually dirty afterward. Heck, maybe you could even get a couple more wears out of it! Having a throw chair is one of those places where your garments may find themselves in between washes. It’s also a great little spot for you to sit in when putting on some of those trickier items in your wardrobe.
Painted your favourite colour
This is a great space to play with pops of colour. Imagine opening the door to your dressing room and walking into your wardrobe space surrounded by your favourite colour. This is a space you can have a lot of fun with and don’t need to keep everything white (unless you want to!). You can even experiment with wallpapers, whether that’s on the actual wall or on the interiors of your cabinets and drawers.
Vanity station for primping
Have a little primping spot where you can put on the finishing touches or double check your look to see if it’s giving what you want it to give. Instead of travelling to another space to put on your makeup or accessories, imagine having enough space in your dressing room with a special little mirror, lights — and everything you need? A dream. You will likely have a spot like this whether it’s in the dressing room or not.
Easy to keep clean
Ensure you have a space to throw your dirty clothes, like a laundry basket or hamper, and allow yourself to tidy your dressing room regularly. Clean the mirrors, vacuum the carpet, line up your hangers, fold your sweaters — ensure you are taking care of the items you adorn yourself with. A messy closet will make all your clothing feel stale. It doesn’t need to stay clean all the time (unless you like that), but ensuring you have a cleaning ritual will keep things feeling fresh.
Everything needs a “spot”
Depending on your wardrobe, you will likely have some kind of collection; maybe it’s fancy jeans, maybe it’s handknit sweaters, maybe it’s thrifted blazers, maybe it’s a massive shoe or hat collection. Whatever your thing is, ensure it has its own spot where you can display these items and easily access them.
