Create a Dressing Room for a Mountains Human Design Environment

If you were designing your dream closet space, what would you include? How would you store your clothes? How about your shoes, hats and bags?

Even in the dressing room, considering your Environment Variable in your Human Design Bodygraph can be a fun way to get in touch with the spaces you resonate with.

Have you ever had a closet that you adored? Maybe you stole a few sacred moments in it when you needed to gather your spirits, or needed a quiet moment to regulate your body. Maybe for you, it’s just a space to hold your clothes and undergarments.

Below, you’ll find ways to design and set up your closet and dressing room based on the Colour of your Environment Variable, whether you’re Caves, Markets, Kitchens, Mountains, Valleys or Shores. These are not hard and fast rules, but ideas for you to consider when building awareness on what you resonate with outside your body. Calculate your Environment Variable here.

Interior mood lighting

When walking into your dream dressing room, imagine it starts to softly glow. You may want to install lighting within certain cubbies, creating the appearance of glowing from within. You can even experiment with illumination as you open drawers, step into the space, or something else. Don’t overlook the lighting in your closet space; this can really create the ultimate mountainous atmosphere you’re looking for when getting dressed.

Soft closing drawers

This is a staple for Mountains People no matter what room we’re looking at; if there is a drawer, it better not slam! How offensive to the chic, boujie Mountains Person we know and love! Don’t overlook this luxury touch in your dressing space.

A window

Many closets are windowless, but for the Mountains Person, having a window (even a skylight) to let in natural light or a fresh breeze can be a delight. When there is a window in a closet space, the space is usually sizeable enough for it to make sense. Sometimes, you’re working with more of an attic space with a small, interestingly shaped window. Whatever you’re working with (or designing from scratch), experiment with having an interesting window in the space. It can also be tinted for privacy if you’re attracted to that! Having no window will feel a little cave-like, which is still okay for you. Having a way for natural light to come in will make the space feel more spacious and mountainous.

Your OWN closet

Sharing closet space with someone? What a drag! In a dream world, having your OWN closet space that you don’t have to share with anyone else makes the space a real treat and RETREAT for you. No sharing if you don’t have to! Walk into your OWN dressing room, you fine little creature, you.

Luxury fabrics and materials

Whether it’s the fabric of the clothing hanging in your dressing room, or the materials the physical space is actually built with, consider what items you want to use. You will likely have opinions about certain materials, and like to create an elevated streamlined look. How can the building materials you use help you create this kind of space? Do you want a marble counter for your floating island in the middle? Do you want modern wood panelling to decorate the interior? Give some thought to the construction side of things; this is more than just drywall!

Spacious interior

If you have the space available to you, use it. Mountains People are usually the ones who compromise some of the bedroom space or bathroom space in a renovation in order to accommodate a bigger closet — and I am all for it! You do not want to be tripping up in this space or not have enough room for all your clothes and accessories. Out of all the environments, I think Mountains People benefit best from having a larger closet space.

A Personal Stylist

What a dream! The ultimate luxury! An expert coming in to dress you, pull outfits and looks, order items, or help you identify your best colours? Having a personal stylist is a fun way to find your look and build your wardrobe so it best expresses the character you want to play.
