Create a Dressing Room for a Valleys Human Design Environment
If you were designing your dream closet space, what would you include? How would you store your clothes? How about your shoes, hats and bags?
Even in the dressing room, considering your Environment Variable in your Human Design Bodygraph can be a fun way to get in touch with the spaces you resonate with.
Have you ever had a closet that you adored? Maybe you stole a few sacred moments in it when you needed to gather your spirits, or needed a quiet moment to regulate your body. Maybe for you, it’s just a space to hold your clothes and undergarments.
Below, you’ll find ways to design and set up your closet and dressing room based on the Colour of your Environment Variable, whether you’re Caves, Markets, Kitchens, Mountains, Valleys or Shores. These are not hard and fast rules, but ideas for you to consider when building awareness on what you resonate with outside your body. Calculate your Environment Variable here.
Everything in arms reach
Depending on the space available to you, try not to keep any important items too high up or stored away, buried and out of reach. If anything, adding more lower drawers rather than higher cubbies will help anchor the space and ensure your essentials are always available. If something is too high up (even if you’re tall!) you may forget about it or misplace it. Keep the items you use more within arms reach.
Dressing and cleaning rituals
The way you inhabit the dressing room is also something to consider. Do you love to wake up and throw on a silk robe? Can it be easily within reach, say hanging on the back of your closet door? Do you love to slip into a comfy outfit after a day’s work? Do you love to pull out your favourite slippers when you get home? Do you do laundry every Sunday afternoon? Depending on your rituals, ensure the space is set up in a way that supports this.
Somewhere to sit
Whether it’s a bench, an ottoman, or a throw chair, having a place to sit will help you put on those cute shoes, or those trickier outfits. You can even set outfits on it while you’re deciding on them — especially when you’re picking out something cute for your regular Friday Date Night. And you know those garments that’s aren’t quite dirty after you wear them? They’ll live on your throw chair.
Spacious and uncluttered
You must have enough space to hold all your clothes, regardless of the size of your wardrobe. If everything you love is stuffed away and hard to find, your closet space won’t have the right vibe. Regularly go through your items to ensure they still fit you and still make you feel good, and discard or give away anything that has become worse for wear or doesn’t fit anymore. If your size fluctuates (common in Valleys People), consider having a range of space and sizes in your dressing room.
High Quality Pieces
Invest in high-end pieces that make you happy when you see and wear them. An ideal closet space is full of items you would recommend to others, regardless of your style. Seek high-quality pieces that will not have to be replaced often, but withstand the test of time. If something is poorly made, it won’t last. This applies to the construction of your closet, too.
Mood lighting and dimmers
Your closet can emit a VIBE when you play with lighting. Dimmers can brighten up a space when you need to inspect your outfit, and dim lighting can create a flattering glow that makes you feel attractive and healthy. If you’re designing your dream closet space, don’t overlook lighting and its influence on how good your outfits look on you. Harsh lighting can make even the cutest outfit look like a drag.
Shoe and bag racks
Having your accessories lined up for you and easily accessible will create a chic environment that is not only fun to dress in, but displays the high-quality pieces you’ve invested in as you’ve been building your wardrobe. The right bag or shoe can really pull an outfit together and complete the vibe you’re creating through your fashion. Keeping things lined up and organized will help create good flow within the space — something that’s essential for you.
