How to set up your bathroom for a Shores Human Design Environment

A little place that you don’t always have a lot of control over design-wise, the bathroom is another room in your home where your Environment will come into play.

Maybe you have a favourite washroom in your home or went to one in a fancy restaurant that you loved — what features did you resonate with?

Why does that bathroom feel best to be in?

If you’re designing a bathroom from scratch it’s one thing, but when the toilet, tub and sink are already secure to the floor, what are some other features you could consider and play with when it comes to the place you poop in?

If you need to check which Environment you have in your Human Design Bodygraph, check out my Variable Calculator to populate yours.

Skylights

Windows are great in any space for a Shores Person (always prioritize the lighting!), but bringing in a skylight into your bathroom is a great way to brighten up a dark or windowless space, and add a view that doesn’t necessarily expose you to your neighbours.

Rainforest showers

Swap out your shower head for a rainforest shower head, or create the ultimate rainforest shower with all kinds of extra nozzles. Having a well-working shower head is one thing, but playing with and experimenting with how the water falls on you is something that is special for Shores People specifically. You have a special connection to water, and you will feel different depending on how it hits you or how you submerge in it.

Robots or high tech features

Shores are attuned to other realities, and bringing in high tech features into your bathroom can help create an otherworldly atmosphere. Whether you have a high tech toilet that talks to you, sinks that rise and disappear, on command lights or a shower that sprays you from every angle — having something unusual, out of the ordinary, or advanced will help create your Shores-filled space.

Finishing touches

Don’t overlook the finishing touches in your bathroom space. Whether that means the door knobs on your cabinets, the toilet paper roll, the towel rod, or even the baseboards and casing of the space — these little areas are opportunities to do something interesting or even spectacular!

Good lighting

This is extra important if you find yourself in a windowless bathroom. Select a special light fixture, or update any old or broken ones you currently have — maybe it’s just not your style! Whether you can hang a cool sputnik light overhead, opt for modern round sconces, or create a cool glow behind your mirror, ensure you have good bright lighting in this space.

Large mirrors

Mirrors are one of the easiest ways to play with space, make it look larger, or brighten it up. They can really transform a space. Always be mindful of what your mirror is reflecting, but consider prioritizing this in your space. Many Shores People find the washroom to be a therapeutic space, and having some good pep talks in the mirror are essential. Practice your speeches, use that inner vision, or play with mirror magic!

Dream Tub

The ideal Shores bathroom will have a pretty spectacular bathtub, soaker, jacuzzi or other washing space. Shores People are very connected to water because their bodies are sensitive the the density of their environment. Submerging in water or swimming can be very regulating for bodies like this. If you’re a Shores person, developing deep bath time rituals is likely a part of your life because they can really clear you out and reset your system.
