How to set up your home’s foyer for a Shores Human Design Environment
The front palace, foyer, or entrance, is an important area in the home that is often overlooked.
This is the very first area where new energy enters the home, flowing through the ENTIRE space we live in, carrying with it energy currents that are charged with frequencies that affect the home’s inhabitants.
Check out this post to read more about the front palace from a Feng Shui perspective, and how to find yours in your home.
Based on your Human Design Environment, consider how you want the energy to feel when it enters your home. Prepare your space so it imprints the surrounding energy flow with that charge. Let’s tend to your front palace!
Mirror the entrance
Bring balance to both sides of the front door. When you step foot inside, what is to the left of you? What is to the right of you? What’s outside the door? What’s inside the door? While these sides don’t need to be the same, they do need to be balanced spatially. When you come home, walking into the middle way, with something on both sides of you, can be very soothing. Decorate both sides of the front door and the space available on either side. You may need to get creative based on what’s available — and if that means keeping it simple, then keep it simple!
Use actual mirrors
Mirrors are amazing ways to for Shores people to teleport and see another angle or side of things, but be careful where you place the mirrors in your home. Be mindful of what they are reflecting because you are amplifying those images and redirecting them. Never place a mirror across from the front door as it will bounce all the fresh energy right out the door. Be careful with too much window reflecting as well. And while you can strategically bring the outside in with mirrors, just make sure what you’re bringing in is beautiful to you. Mirrors are an amazing way to increase the size of a space and also create missing dimension in a small space.
Display cultural artifacts
Let your story spill into your home the second you walk in. Display your treasures, artifacts and collections in creative ways to create a dynamic flare in your space. Consider the materials used in your home’s pieces, where you sourced them, who made them, or what interesting story goes along with them. Having a statement piece that gets people talking the second they enter is a winner! This can be anything.
Accommodate your lifestyle
Let’s say you live on the beach; we know you’ll be tracking sand in. How will this affect your home? Does it affect your flooring, carpet, or materials used? Do you live in the wetlands where duck boots and rain gear need to be at the ready? Work with your lifestyle requirements and build them into the space.
Consider floor and heaven energy
The foyer is a particularly special place for Shores people because it is a sort of in-between space from the outside and the main interior area in the home. Above and below are areas to consider for Shores people! The state of your earth/floor energy and heaven/ceiling/roof energy is important to evaluate. In Feng Shui, dramatic changes to the Floor, Heaven, and Main Door energy will update an outdated home to the current period’s energy — something that’s important in spatial diagnosis. Don’t overlook these areas in your entrance; better yet, how can they shine or get special treatment?
Have a lighting moment
Shores people are often inspired and ignited by the change of lighting. Illumination is a common Shores theme. Worshipping the sun through tanning rituals, or worshipping the moon through manifestation rituals and cycles, the luminary is significant for the Shores person. Have a lighting moment and create a STATEMENT piece. We love a statement piece or conversation starter in a Shores home! Turning on a light also represents your personal illumination when you come home.
Intimately consider the home’s personality
Your home has a spirit. How might you connect with it and bring out the best in each other? Can you greet it? Compliment it? Clean it? Watch the movie Encanto for inspiration if you need! How might you get to know your home, and communicate with it, tend to it, and respect it as a co-creator in your life? The health of your home is intimately connected to the health of your body. What can your home show you about yourself? Ensure your home’s personality shine’s through the moment you come home. You can cultivate that Personality together.
