Create a Shores Bedroom
Hey, Human Design lover. Something to keep in mind: just because you’re a Shores Person doesn’t mean these suggestions will necessarily work for you. But! They’re a starting point to get you thinking differently about your sleeping space.
Plus — you may have a unique sleeping situation! These tips and ideas are meant to inspire thought, and get you thinking about the ways you can build your Shores awareness. Trust what you’re drawn to trying, and steer clear from what doesn’t resonate. Have fun!
Ensure you can walk around both sides of the bed
In other words don’t tuck your bed in a corner. Waking up on the other side of the bed can be a great switch up for you when necessary. Ensuring there is flow around the bed is essential, and you can change perspective depending which side you’re on.
Create symmetry
Think pairs. Two pillows. Two night tables. Two table lamps. Bring as much balance and symmetry to the room as possible while creating two distinct sides. While the items don’t need to match perfectly, their shape or size should balance each other.
Prioritize natural light
Poor light in the bedroom can be rough for a Shores Person. Do your best to select a room with great natural light, whether that is a big window, or windows tucked in the right place. Consider which direction your room’s light source comes from in order to know when light will fill the room. If you are in a room with poor natural light, do your best to quell the issue with artificial lighting such as cool lamps or sconces.
Create a room within the room
It’s ideal to have another walk-in space within your sleep space. Whether that is a walk-in closet or an ensuite, standing within the other room while looking at your bedroom will have a nourishing effect. Ensuite bathrooms have been known to be great calibrating spaces for Shores people! Bonus points if you can BATHE in the room.
Water features
Consider bringing water elements to your bedroom, such as artwork, paintings, water colours or if you’re more of a sound person — through sound waves, oceanic soundtracks, or the sound of the rain. How can you bring the water element into your space based on what’s available to you?
Add your personal touch
If we were to walk into your sleep space, what would be the defining feature that told us it was your room? Would it be your trendy bed frame? The texture of your bedding? The cool bedside lamps, or the cool wooly throw pillow? Maybe its the crystals on the side of the bed, or modern bedside clock. Whatever your special touch is, consider bringing in an extra element — whatever that may mean for you.
Consider where you lay your head
If you’re ever feeling off, try sleeping on the other side of the bed one night. Consider which direction your head is pointing when you sleep, and research what direction is best for your overall wellness by studying your Kua Number in feng shui.
