Create a Kitchens Bedroom

Hey, Human Design lover. Something to keep in mind: just because you’re a Kitchens Person doesn’t mean these suggestions will necessarily work for you. But! They’re a starting point to get you thinking differently about your sleeping space.

Plus — you may have a unique sleeping situation! These tips and ideas are meant to inspire thought, and get you thinking about the ways you can build your Kitchens awareness. Trust what you’re drawn to trying, and steer clear from what doesn’t resonate. Have fun!

Center your bed

Place your bed in the middle of the room. Ideally, you can access both sides of your bed. You can get in or out on either side, rather than have your bed tucked against a wall. Your bed is the heart of the space; the core of the room — where your eye immediately goes in the room.

Switch something in your space periodically

Whether you change up your linens here and there, or rotate your throw pillow collection, mix up your bedroom materials every once in awhile. This will depend on your accessories and what you have available.

Bring in stimulation

This can be through colour, sound, or texture. Let your bedroom be filled with the latest trends you’re eyeing, and bring some excitement to the visuals — whatever type of visual excites you. This could be fun lampshades, great wall-art, a statement bedspread or an attractive bed buddy. Have fun with it, and don’t be afraid to mix it up in the bedroom.

Prioritize the entire bed

The bed is where all the magic happens. The sleep. The sex. It’s the whole kitchen. If you’re going to splurge on one item in your room, let it be your bed. Pick the perfect bed for your style, budget, and the space available to you, and don’t be afraid to try something cool and trendy.

Create the space for sex

Kitchens People may need to bump bodies in the bedroom more than others! Everything we know about the three wants to get into it, mix with others, bump into people — and get a little messy. If you’re a Kitchens Person, consider the magic you have made in the bedroom with your partners — what was special about it? What kind of sexual energy do you like to create in the bedroom, and how might you prioritize this?

How undone do you like your space?

As a Kitchens Person, there may be a method to your madness. A messy room may not bother you. In fact it may be comforting and soothing when your bed is a little undone, whispering to you that it is ready and waiting whenever you are. Maybe you have a robe hung on the door, or yesterday’s not-dirty-enough-outfit draped on your corner chair. Consider how your lived in space brings comfort and character.

Sleep in the middle

Anytime you can sleep right in the middle of the bed — do it!
